Qualcomm is preparing the presentation of its Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, only a few months after the launch of the 8+ Gen 1.
The release of Qualcomm’s new flagship will be earlier this year, as we could assume. Only a few months after the launch of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, Qualcomm is expected to unveil the second generation of high-end chip: the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
Launch scheduled for November 15
Qualcomm has formalized its Snapdragon Summit conference for November 14. It is during this major annual event that the firm usually unveils its new SoC for high-end smartphones which will equip all the flagships of our favorite brands. The conference will once again take place in Hawaii, halfway between Asia and North America, to invite all the cream of the trade press and industry players.
Obviously, Qualcomm will not be satisfied with the presentation of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 during this event. The firm is now used to touching many areas of tech. In 2021, it notably presented a chip and a portable console as well as technologies around audio and connected devices. This year, the PC could again be the star of the event, we know that Qualcomm would like to outdo Apple in this area.
It is definitely a very busy end of the year that promises to be for microcomputing. Apart from the Snapdragon Summit, we expect the launch of the Intel Raptor Lake (13th generation), AMD Zen 4 (Ryzen 7000), Apple M2 Pro, and M2 Max chips, not to mention the AMD Radeon RX 7000 GPUs and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4000.
