The company says its new memory delivers 30% faster speeds than 18Gb GDDR6 memory, thanks to innovative circuitry and high-tech insulation material that minimizes current leakage. Samsung’s GDDR6 is manufactured on a 10nm process and, combined with a 384-bit bus, delivers up to 1.1TB per second of throughput. That’s roughly 275 Full HD movies.
GDDR6 is highly scalable and can be used not only in the highest performance graphics cards but also in power efficient laptops. This makes it significantly different from GDDR6X memory, which is characterized by exceptional performance. The latter was developed by NVIDIA in collaboration with Micron. This memory is used in the RTX 3090 Ti graphics accelerator and can process data at a speed of 21 Gb / s.
