Samsung One UI 7.0 Android 15 Beta

Samsung users are eagerly awaiting the launch of the One UI 7.0 (Android 15) Beta. Recently, a leaker named SamsonSirJi/X, citing internal sources, revealed key details about the current stage of development, rollout strategy, key improvements, and more.

Phased Rollout Strategy

Contrary to recent rumors suggesting a simultaneous Beta launch for all recent flagship devices, the leaker indicates that Samsung will stick to its traditional rollout strategy. The Galaxy S24 series will be the first to be invited to the One UI 7.0 Beta Program.

This phased approach has multiple advantages, including better resource allocation, improved performance optimization, enhanced quality assurance, and a more streamlined feedback process. After a few Betas are released for the S24 series, the Beta program will expand to include older models.

Performance Enhancements

In response to user demand, One UI developers are focusing on improving the OS’s smoothness. This includes enhancements to animations, offering smoother transitions and improved fluency. However, these overall improvements will only be fully realized in the Stable version of the update.

The One UI 7.0 update is expected to deliver smoother app launches, better menu interactions, and an overall enhanced navigation experience within the OS. These upgrades will elevate the overall Galaxy experience by reducing functional lags and stutters.

Anticipated Bugs and Battery Life

Samsung is diligently working to address both major and minor bugs during the Alpha testing phase. While the Beta version may still include some minor bugs due to its broader audience, these issues should be easier to resolve during the Beta Program.

One potential issue that users might encounter in the initial Beta firmware is excessive battery drain. This is likely due to the early state of the software and incompatibility with certain apps and services. However, this shouldn’t be a significant concern, and users can expect improvements after at least two Beta releases.

Beta Program Insights

Samsung is preparing to launch a well-coordinated Beta Program for its Galaxy devices. The primary goal of the program is to identify and fix bugs throughout the OS. User feedback will be crucial for the seamless and speedy development of the software.

The Korean tech giant plans to officially introduce One UI 7 on October 3rd, 2024, with Beta activities expected to commence in September. Additionally, Samsung will soon push new Galaxy AI features that debuted with the Z Fold/Flip 6 to general users.
