Galaxy Devices Eligible for Android 15
Google Pixel phones are set to receive the stable Android 15 update in the coming weeks. The new operating system has been exclusive to Pixel devices since I/O 2024. However, in September, Samsung is expected to open its Android 15 Beta Program, known as One UI 7, for Galaxy devices.
Samsung’s Timeline for Android 15 Beta
Following the I/O 2024 event, many Android vendors, including Xiaomi, OPPO, and OnePlus, have launched Public Beta programs for their flagship devices. While Samsung has not followed this trend, the company is working diligently to kick off the One UI Beta program soon.
One UI 6.1.1: The Current Galaxy Skin
One UI 6.1.1, based on Android 14, is the latest Galaxy skin. Later this year, Samsung will roll out One UI 7, based on Android 15, to many of its devices. As of August 2024, we already know which Galaxy devices are eligible for Android 15. The Galaxy S24 series will likely be the first to receive the One UI 7 Beta sometime in August this year. Samsung will then expand the Beta program to other flagship models, including the Galaxy Z Fold 6/Flip 6, and some older lineups like the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Galaxy Z Fold 5.
