Some features of Apple iOS 16 will only work on those devices that have a chipset of A12 Bionic chip or above. That is, some features of iOS 16 will not work on older devices like iPhone 8 and iPhone X.
Apple has rolled out a stable version of iOS 16. The company introduced this new software at its developer conference WWDC 2022 and also announced its release date at last week’s iPhone 14 launch event. It arrived in India on the night of September 12, but some features of this software will not work on every iPhone. Let’s know which are these features and which devices they will not work on.

The new iPhone 14 series will work on the new Apple iOS 16 version as soon as it leaves the box. This lineup includes iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max models. The new software is Apple iPhone 13 Series, iPhone 12 Series, iPhone 11 Series, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone SE (2nd-gen and 3rd-gen).
Some features of Apple iOS 16 will only work on those devices that have a chipset of A12 Bionic chip or above. The A12 chipset was introduced by the company along with the iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max. Some features of iOS 16 will not work on the iPhone device that came before. These include all the older iPhone models from the iPhone X and iPhone 8.
Apple iOS 16 features that won’t work on every iPhone
Features like Live Captions, Visual Look Up, Live Text, and Door Detection will not work on iPhone XR or later iPhone models.
Live Captions are special for users who can’t hear. This feature writes the audio present in the video on the screen in real time. Through the Visual Look Up feature, users can separate the subject in a photo from the background and search for more information about it.
The Live Text feature is similar to Google Lens, which identifies the text written in front with the help of the camera. You can copy this text, translate it and send it to someone in a chat. The Door Detection feature is special for users who cannot see. It tells you what things are around you.
